Ottertools FS-MPS instructions

The Ottertools FS-MPS is intended for use with routers. Any rectangular format can be produced thanks to the profiles, which can be moved relative to one another. Using a copy ring, rectangular millings can be made easily and precisely.

Initial assembly

1) Insert the screws into the profile from the back side. The profiles are designed so that the screws cannot fall out to the side.

2) Attach the slot nuts loosely.

3) Now connect two profiles together by pushing the slot nuts into the groove of the counterpart.

4) Now connect the two halves.

If your router allows it, you can also use the tipping protection provided. Read the operating instructions for your router to see whether there are any unused threaded holes in the base plate of your router. These are often closed with screws to prevent dirt from getting in. If you find what you are looking for and there is a thread between M4 and M6, you can mount the tipping protection using the included screws.

use

Before use, you must adjust the FS-MPS to the desired dimensions. You can calculate this either using your own milling template APP (available for Android and iOS ) or manually as follows:

To do this, you need your desired size, the cutter diameter and the diameter of the copy sleeve you are using. You can use this to find the measurement you need on the enclosed measurement table.

For example, if you use a 28mm copy sleeve, an 18mm milling cutter and want to mill a 100mmx150mm cutout, you will find an allowance of 10mm in the measurement table. So you set 110mmx160mm.

The milling template at the desired location Fasten with screw clamps or clamps and you can start milling.
